The Venue
The Royal Exhibition Building, Melbourne is the
venue for the World Stamp Exhibition which will commemorate the
Centenary of the Kangaroo Stamp issued as the first Commonwealth postage
stamp.
Located in the beautiful Carlton Gardens on the edge of
Melbourne's CBD the Royal Exhibition Building will provide the ideal
setting for this international event. It is close to many accommodation
options and has excellent public transport access.
With its meticulously restored opulent interior, expansive
galleries and soaring dome, the Great Hall offers the perfect setting
for Australia 2013 FIP World Stamp Exhibition. The venue has all the
required modern services and facilities to successfully conduct this
major event.
In July 2004 the Royal Exhibition Building and
surrounding Carlton Gardens were inscribed on the World Heritage
listing, the first building in Australia to have achieved this status.
The City of Melbourne was recently awarded the honour of 'World's Most Liveable City".
